10 Things to Do in Wright City MO

June 19, 2018

Lauren Moritz

My husband and I bought our first house in Wright City and are happy to call the area our home! I previously worked in management roles at both Cedar Lake Cellars and Innsbrook Resort which both hold a special place in my heart. Check out the many wonderful destinations so close to our home!

  1. Have a Glass by the Lake –Cedar Lake Cellars

I worked for Cedar Lake Cellars for two years and it is hands down one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. Whether you’re tasting wine, listening to music or throwing a party, CLC is the place to be. Check out their website’s event calendar for a list of all their festivals and events!

Breathtaking is an understatement

  1. Smell the Lavender –Long Row Lavender Farm

Where else can you find a lavender farm!? When I first heard about Tracey Smith’s farm and all of her creations I was blown away. Come by and visit, purchase handmade soaps, candles and so much more. They even host regular yoga classes in the field- Long Row Lavender Farm is an absolute dream.

  1. Visit the Petting Zoo! –Big Joel’s Safari

The greatest place to take your kids is Big Joel’s Safari! Learn all about Joel’s 60+ different animal species including camels, zebras, tons of snakes and so much more! Kids can pet and/or feed many of the animals as well as a variety of fun activities for kids and adults!

  1. Fall Time Frenzie –Pumpkins Galore Phobius Haunted House

There is so much to do in Wright City all year round, but I couldn’t leave out these special fall favorites. Phobius Haunted House and Pumpkins Galore bring twice the fun to our area during their prime season.

  1. Find Hidden Treasures –Jackie O’s Antiques & Hissy Fits Kids Consignment

If you have not been to Jackie O’s Antiques you have got to go! I was completely speechless by the sheer volume of treasures just waiting to be found. In addition to having the coolest antiques, they also refinish furniture and have a kids consignment store on property! You will not be disappointed.

  1. See A Friendly Face –Wright City Hardware

Okay, so maybe visiting a hardware store doesn’t exactly sound “exciting” to everyone – but I adore the folks at Wright City Hardware. They are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, always willing to help and they will order in anything they may not have in store. Not to mention, they carry Ski Soda (try it – it’s amazing!) and Ted Drewes Frozen Custard which is reason enough to stop by even if you don’t need any hardware.

  1. Be Pampered – Charlee Darlings for you and Pets on Parade for your furry friend

I know a lot of local people who drive to Wentzville or further to get their hair done or their dogs groomed but there’s no need to! Stop in to the adorable Charlee Darlings to treat yourself, and bring your fur-babies by Pets on Parade. Everyone deserves a little pampering!

  1. Take A Vacation! –Innsbrook Resort

Last but certainly not least, Innsbrook Resort! In my experience, many locals know that you can live at Innsbrook but are unaware of all the other amenities it offers. Renting a condo or home at Innsbrook offers a lake life vacation right here in your backyard! Enjoy hiking trails, a fantastic swimming pool with lazy river, boating & sailing in the lakes, golfing, two delicious restaurants (The Clubhouse and The Summerhaus) as well as summer concerts AND the greatest 4th of July Firework show in the state. Note – even if you’re not vacationing the golf course and clubhouse restaurant are open to the public daily!
